What Is the blood pressure (hypertension)?
Blood pressure is the pressure in your blood vessels created by your pumping heart. When this pressure is excessive it is called high blood pressure. The second smaller number is the diastolic pressure and this is the pressure between pumps or when the heart is filling with blood.High blood pressure (HBP) affects nearly 70.6 million people in the United States alone. Also known as hypertension HBP is known as the “silent killer” as 20% of which 70.6 million people are not aware that they even have it! Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure or kidney failure.
